Blue Legal are partnering with a leading law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Sector Senior Manager, Industrials & Defence to join their London office. You will help deliver the firm’s Clients & Sectors strategy by partnering with Sector Leaders to drive growth through strategic alignment, cross-selling, and proactive client engagement.
The Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a focused Industrials strategy (with emphasis on aerospace, defence, and security), leveraging data, market intel, and client feedback to drive profitable growth.
- Regularly review the client portfolio to ensure alignment with firm priorities, sector trends, and future opportunities, integrating industry developments and convergence into strategy.
- Establish clear targets and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sector strategy and business development initiatives.
- Lead sector-specific BD and client-targeting efforts, collaborating with BDM teams on campaigns and focusing on high-potential clients and opportunities.
- Oversee win strategies and proposal development, provide data-led insights for pipeline management, and adjust strategies based on market trends.
- Build strong internal relationships, facilitate cross-sector coordination, support white-space analysis and action plans, and oversee client account management and feedback processes.
The Candidate:
- Significant experience in global business development within legal or professional services, with a proven ability to design and implement sector-specific strategies that drive revenue and cross-selling.
- Strong understanding of the Industrial sector, would be preferable, including clients, trends, and challenges, ideally with energy, chemicals, defence, and security experience, plus comfort navigating complex, matrixed environments.
- Strategic and collaborative approach: Demonstrated success in partnering with senior stakeholders, leveraging data-driven insights for strategic decisions, and engaging directly with clients to deliver growth.
