Blue Legal are partnering with a leading international law firm who are recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager to lead their Consumer & Sports sector, based in London. The role involves managing and coordinating go-to-market campaigns, white-space analysis, and client feedback cycles to ensure that strategic goals are met. Working with client teams, CRMs, and global colleagues, you will ensure a seamless client experience and alignment of BD activity with broader firm priorities.

The Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the Consumer & Sports sector strategy, designing sector plans aligned with firm-wide goals and updating them in response to market developments.
  • Coordinate strategic alignment across global and local offices, engaging sector leaders and partners to track performance.
  • Deliver cross-practice BD initiatives and go-to-market campaigns, ensuring priority clients receive targeted, sector-focused activity.
  • Collaborate with BD and marketing teams to drive campaign execution, monitoring engagement metrics and reporting outcomes.
  • Use insights, data, and analytics to identify high-potential clients, track KPIs, and inform strategic targeting and business planning.
  • Manage client white-space analysis, prioritising opportunities, embedding account planning, and ensuring accountability for execution.
  • Support sector-aligned pitches and client engagement by reviewing content for sector relevance, highlighting market issues, and coordinating responses.
  • Provide input on legal directory and award submissions to enhance sector visibility and reputation.

The Candidate:

  • Extensive BD management experience in legal/professional services, with proven success in sector strategies, client development, cross-selling, and major pitches/market submissions.
  • Deep understanding and/or interest of Consumer & Sports sector dynamics, client challenges, and the ability to use data, analytics, and feedback to shape BD plans and white-space opportunities.
  • Strong ability to influence and work with senior stakeholders and global teams, with excellent written and oral English, interpersonal skills, and a professional, adaptable approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, highly organised with excellent time/document management, integrity, attention to detail, and the resilience to stay calm under pressure while offering practical solutions.
