New Business Unit Administrator

A leading UK law firm is seeking a New Business Unit Administrator to join its Risk Management team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented administrator to support the firm’s client and matter onboarding processes, ensuring regulatory requirements are met while providing a high-quality service to fee earners and internal stakeholders.

The Responsibilities

  • Process new client and matter opening requests, reviewing documentation to ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Carry out AML, CDD, sanctions and conflict searches in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance, AML, sanctions or conflict issues to the appropriate Risk team members.
  • Maintain accurate client, matter and compliance records across internal systems, ensuring documentation is correctly filed and kept up to date.
  • Act as a key point of contact for fee earners, secretaries and internal stakeholders, responding to onboarding and AML queries and providing progress updates.
  • Monitor outstanding AML and onboarding requirements, completing follow-up actions and supporting effective inbox management.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the continued development of efficient onboarding and compliance procedures across the team.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience within an administrative role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment, with an understanding of client and matter onboarding processes.
  • Awareness of AML, CDD, sanctions and conflict checking requirements, with excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing a professional service to internal stakeholders.
