Blue Legal are partnering with a leading professional services firm who are recruiting for a Marketing & Business Development Manager to join their Kent office on a 12 month FTC basis. The role involves identifying and retaining their key clients, introducing additional services to existing clients, and identifying prospective clients and actively targeting them.

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute local business development plans aligned with firm-wide strategy, working closely with partners.
  • Manage the local BD & marketing budget, assess ROI, and challenge spend to ensure financial discipline.
  • Provide market insight with a commercial mind-set, maintaining deep knowledge of the local sector and client needs.
  • Plan and lead targeted BD campaigns, events, and relationship-building initiatives to drive growth and revenue.
  • Mentor and support partners and teams in relationship management, client targeting, and intermediary engagement.
  • Actively engage with clients through networking, events, and service reviews to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, guide teams in pitching, and conduct client interviews and debriefs.
  • Collaborate with the wider BD and marketing team to promote brand consistency and support firm-wide initiatives.

The Candidate:

  • Strong team player with leadership skills, experienced in supervising, developing people, and driving performance.
  • Similar experience from another professional services firm.
  • Analytical and results-oriented, skilled in problem-solving, decision-making, and acting on data to drive outcomes.
  • Commercially aware and highly organised, demonstrating resilience under pressure, effective planning, and technical competence.
