Blue Legal are partnering with a leading law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to support their Energy and Infrastructure sector, this role will be based from their brand new London office. You will play a pivotal part in delivering the firm’s sector strategy by working closely with Sector Leaders to drive focused BD initiatives. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced BD professional looking to have a more client focus in their role, as they’ll be managing 1-2 key accounts. The team are open to considering candidates in broader professional services with the right sector knowledge.

The Responsibilities:

  • Drive a focused Energy, Utilities & Infrastructure sector strategy aligned with firm-wide priorities to grow profitable revenue with priority clients.
  • Deliver sector client action plans and support Relationship Partners in identifying and progressing opportunities.
  • Lead execution of sector-specific BD and client-targeting initiatives, working with wider teams to deliver aligned, high-impact go-to-market campaigns.
  • Support structured client feedback processes for sector clients.
  • Provide data-driven market insights, monitor trends, and recommend strategic adjustments to accelerate revenue growth.
  • Establish and track sector targets, dashboards and KPIs to measure strategy and BD effectiveness.
  • Contribute sector insight to win strategies, pitches, and submissions, and foster collaboration across sector leaders, partners and client teams to drive cross-selling and coordinated client engagement.

 

The Candidate:

  • Extensive sector-focused BD experience within global legal or professional services, with strong industry knowledge of Energy & Infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement sector BD strategies, drive cross-selling, and lead CRM and data-driven initiatives that support revenue growth.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and collaboration skills, including working effectively within complex matrix structures and with senior partners.
  • Solid academic background in marketing, business or related fields, ideally complemented by advanced leadership or marketing qualifications.
  • Key account management and/or further client focused experience is desirable.
