Business Development Manager

Blue Legal is partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Business Development Manager. This role sits within a high-performing Marketing and Business Development team, working closely with Partners and business support colleagues to drive client engagement, new business generation, and strategic growth across the London office.

The Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Partners and global teams to develop and implement business and client development plans for target clients, including managing budgets, tracking progress, and identifying initiatives to grow revenue and relationships.
  • Project-manage pitches, proposals, and RFPs from strategy through to submission, including team coordination, content development, and post-submission follow-up.
  • Conduct and tailor client, market, and competitor research to support BD strategy and provide actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, advising on engagement opportunities and facilitating strategic meetings.
  • Work with marketing and business support colleagues to plan and deliver targeted client events, industry conferences, speaking engagements, and sponsorships.
  • Support knowledge sharing and training initiatives, including lawyer-facing BD development and best practice dissemination.
  • Mentor and manage junior BD team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Candidate:

  • Minimum eight years’ business development experience within professional services or corporate environments, with management experience.
  • Confident and commercially minded, able to establish credibility with senior partners and stakeholders quickly.
  • Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
