Blue Legal are partnering with a leading law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to support their Transport group, based in their London office. The role involves playing a pivotal role in the delivery of the firm’s Clients & Sectors strategy, working hand in hand with Sector Leaders to drive a focused and forward-looking sector strategy, aligned with the firm-wide strategic priorities, and aimed at growing profitable revenue through facilitating cross-selling and proactive client engagement, informed by sectoral trends and opportunities.
The Responsibilities:
- Support sector leadership in defining and executing a focused Transport sector strategy aligned with firm-wide goals and market trends.
- Review client portfolios to ensure alignment with strategic priorities; implement KPIs to measure BD effectiveness.
- Lead specific BD initiatives and campaigns, focusing on high-potential clients in collaboration with BDM teams.
- Provide strategic input on proposals, support CRMs and pitch teams to deliver tailored, high-impact client submissions.
- Use data-driven insights for opportunity spotting, pipeline management, and to monitor trends that inform BD strategies.
- Foster collaboration across sectors and practices, support cross-selling, and ensure coordinated client engagement.
The Candidate:
- Manager-level BD experience in global legal or professional services, with deep understanding of the sector group (automotive, transport, or space) and its challenges.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sector-focused BD strategies, drive cross-selling, and use data insights to inform decisions and grow revenue.
- Track record of working effectively with senior partners and relationship managers, ideally within a law firm matrix structure; client-facing experience is a plus.
- Degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
