Blue Legal is partnering with a leading international law firm who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their London office. The ideal candidate will keep composure under pressure, with sound decision making capabilities and willingness to take on additional tasks as required. The roleholder will be responsible for managing relationships and serve as a key day-to-day resource for pitches, research and reporting, client targeting, marketing communications and event and admin support.
The Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans in collaboration with Partners, industry groups, and the Business Development team.
- Create compelling pitches and RFP responses to win new business, and support client relationship-building initiatives.
- Conduct market and client research with the research team to deliver competitive intelligence and trend analysis.
- Produce and manage marketing materials including practice descriptions, brochures, experience lists, and online content.
- Plan and execute client events and directory submissions, while supporting PR initiatives and key external engagements.
- Mentor junior team members and improve BD processes, including training, performance oversight, and leveraging BD technology.
The Candidate:
- Degree-educated with 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role within a law firm or professional services, particularly supporting transactional practices.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships, advise senior stakeholders, and ensure strategic alignment with business goals.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
