Blue Legal is partnering with a leading London law firm to recruit a Marketing & Business Development Executive. The role will have significant responsibility for managing the firm’s legal directories programme, including Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, Spear’s and Lexology, while also supporting business development initiatives, CRM activity, events, market research and the development of marketing and BD materials.
The Responsibilities:
- Manage the firm-wide legal directories and awards calendar, coordinating submissions across multiple practice groups and ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
- Coordinate and manage submissions for Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, Spear’s, Lexology and other relevant directories and awards.
- Liaise with Partners and fee earners to gather matter highlights, deal information, referee details and other content required for high-quality submissions.
- Manage referee processes, research periods and interview windows, ensuring practice groups are fully briefed and supported throughout the process.
- Upload and manage submissions through official directory portals, ensuring accuracy and resolving any technical issues where required.
- Monitor published rankings, editorial commentary and individual lawyer accolades, supporting internal and external communications around ranking successes.
- Support the development of website, LinkedIn and other marketing content, including updates to lawyer biographies, practice area information and firm credentials.
- Support wider business development initiatives, including market research, client targeting, pitches, proposals, events and client/referrer engagement.
- Develop and maintain BD content and materials, ensuring resources are accurate, up to date and readily accessible across the firm.
- Support the ongoing development and optimisation of the firm’s CRM system, helping maintain data quality and identify opportunities for improved client intelligence.
The Candidate:
- Strong experience managing legal directory submissions, particularly Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, is essential.
- Experience managing the directories process across multiple practice areas, including submissions, referees, deadlines, research periods and rankings.
- Experience with Spear’s, Lexology or other legal directories and awards would be highly advantageous.
- Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising with Partners and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
