Blue Legal are partnering with a leading global law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their London office, supporting the Finance, Business Restructuring, and Real Estate practices. The role involves acting as a strategic advisor to key practice groups in London, driving business and client development initiatives in alignment with global firm priorities through close collaboration with teams across regions.

The Responsibilities:

  • Partner with practice group leaders and global teams to develop and execute business and client development plans, including budgeting, tracking initiatives, and driving revenue growth.
  • Establish effective frameworks for reporting progress, sharing insights, and supporting management with actionable data across practice groups and teams.
  • Lead efforts to grow existing client relationships and win new business by coordinating internal BD meetings, conducting market research, identifying trends, and aligning global resources.
  • Drive end-to-end pitch and RFP processes—develop strategy, coordinate teams, write content, ensure timely submissions, and manage follow-ups—while promoting best practices and maintaining up-to-date materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing to deliver knowledge campaigns, manage directory and award submissions, and ensure alignment with branding and BD strategies.
  • Recommend and execute strategic industry events, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and targeted client programs to support business goals.
  • Oversee and support complex cross-regional projects, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and coordination with partners, lawyers, and support teams.
  • Develop junior BD team members and contribute to lawyer BD training, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and professional team culture.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years’ business development experience in a professional services or corporate environment, including team management responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of UK and EU markets, with preferred experience supporting Finance, Business Restructuring, Real Estate, and infrastructure sectors, particularly in relation to banks, financial institutions, and investment funds.
  • Strong client service orientation, commercial mindset, excellent communication and project management skills, and the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Confident, proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
