The Company:

A multi-disciplined Law firm with an impressive client portfolio is looking to take on an experienced Business Development & Marketing Specialist to work in their Essex offices.  This role will report into the Business Development Partner.


The Responsibilities:

Our client is looking to recruit a Business Development and Marketing Professional to work with the partnership on utilising account management, business development and the full marketing mix to promote the services of the firm.  The successful candidate will:

  • Devise and execute a Marketing and BD Plan for the firm, based around the business objectives and in conjunction with the partnership.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Fee Earners on a range of marketing and business development campaigns to meet their strategic goals.
  • Manage the Firm’s brand and corporate identity and to ensure it is used correctly and appropriately across all channels.
  • Oversee the production and publication of all internal and external communications.
  • Attend specific practice group marketing meetings to provide guidance and input on initiatives at ideas stage.
  • Support Fee Earners in developing relationships with new clients and preparing for business development meetings.
  • Provide up to date Market and Client research to support business planning activities.
  • Prepare Pitches and Presentations to support Fee Earners in winning business and sourcing and assessing opportunities.
  • Develop and drive effective sustained targeting initiatives and campaigns
  • Facilitate cross-selling opportunities within the firm
  • Manage and execute an events and seminar programme for the firm and ensure a proactive follow up process.
  • Implement and maintain the social media and website platforms.
  • Coordinate the annual directories process – working with Partners and other Fee Earners to maximise legal directory submissions.
  • Draft and produce offline marketing literature, including press releases and brochures.


The Candidate:

  • Degree educated or holder of a CIM qualification
  • Experience in a similar role from a professional services background
  • A self-starter, who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing ideas and solutions.
  • Well-developed project and time management skills plus organisational skills
  • Well-developed persuading and influencing skills, with the ability to manage at a senior level without having direct line responsibility
  • Confident, assertive and resilient with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
