Operating at the forefront of the legal industry, my client is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join and lead their corporate practice team in London. This practice area is one of the firm’s largest, proving advice across the broad range of work including M&A, equity capital markets, disposals and corporate restructurings. This role is pivotal in driving forward business development activity for the London corporate proactive and work closely with partners on their client development plans and objectives whilst leading a team of ten.

The Responsibilities:

  • Work with partners on their client development plans and objectives
  • Maintain exceptional knowledge and insight across the market and how industries are developing. Utilise this insight to track and spot opportunities
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across the Corporate business development team in London and globally
  • Lead in the managements of a major practice group (manage a team of 10 of London Corporate BD team members)
  • Oversee the executive of client development plans
  • Lead on pitches for the London Corporate group
  • Contribute product and market insights into cross proactive and cross border pitches
  • Continue to win profitable work from existing and new clients
  • Support the PR and communications pan to build the firm profile
  • Ensure the Corporate practice stands out for high value transactions in public and private M&A across multiple sectors
  • CRM for key corporate client relationships
  • Support the firm’s client listening programme and oversee its implementation in the London Corporate practice
  • Identify profile raising opportunities for the firm’s London Corporate practice and increase the profile of leading individuals

The Candidate:

  • Graduate with additional professional marketing/business qualification
  • Substantial business development experience within a legal or accountancy firm
  • Existing senior manager who works closely with partners and other fee earners
  • Proven track record of achieving strategic business objectives within Corporate/M&A
  • Proven leadership skills
