Head of Marketing

An award winning, full service law firm in based in West Sussex are looking for an experienced Head of Marketing to join and develop a team. This role is reporting into the Business Development Partner.

The Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering the marketing (including marketing communications) strategy for the firm, which reflects the firm’s vision and strategy
  • Advising, making recommendations and supporting the firm’s Senior Management Team (SMT) in its overall approach to sales and marketing including instigating new approaches and campaigns and supplying board-level business cases and recommendations
  • Helping to set, manage and review the marketing budget; monitor and report on the return on investment for the firm; liaising with the SMT (including finance director or equivalent)
  • Involvement in developing and implementing business plans and strategies, including providing marketing insights
  • Responsible for instigating and executing focussed sector and/or practice area based sales campaigns including supporting lawyers and teams with campaigns that they want to develop
  • Working closely with the firm’s Head of Clients to ensure that sales, cross-sales and marketing best practices and strategies can be applied where appropriate to the firm’s prospective, new and existing clients and referrers
  • Developing a corporate brand and corporate identity, including setting and enforcing strong
  • Developing the firm’s brand values and communicating the firm’s vision and mission to key audiences, in liaison with the Head of HR and Head of Clients
  • Managing the marketing team, including motivating and developing the team and being responsible for the overall results and delivery of the marketing strategy
  • Management of, and liaison with, relevant third party relationships such as PR, website and brand management consultants and companies ensuring value for money and that effective reporting requirements are in place
  • Managing the firm’s events/hospitality/networking strategy to deliver well-attended and effective events that attract and inform our agreed key client

The Candidate:

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Previous professional services experience
  • Previous experience man-managing a team
  • At least 8 years of experience
