A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a bright, proactive Marketing Assistant to join a leading barristers’ chambers. You will be assisting the Head of Business Development to implement Chambers’ marketing and client service strategy. This role and will suit you if you are good at juggling different tasks, super organised, comfortable dealing with clients and colleagues, and happy taking on responsibility. This is a very varied job and you will get lots of hands-on marketing experience, from business development strategy to event co-ordination and front-of-house client contact.

 

The Responsibilities:

 

  • Organising seminars and events: making sure all seminar materials are complete and ready in good time before the event; following up with clients post-event. Helping organise in-house and large-scale external events; sourcing venues, budget management, creating invitations, putting together guest lists and briefing members of chambers on attendees.
  • Website and social media: updating our web content/news and LinkedIn profiles.
  • Newsletter updates: scheduling and sending out case alerts; helping to compile our email newsletter; managing our email subscribers.
  • Contacts database: updating our contacts database and producing reports.
  • Desktop research: helping with research on the legal market and industry sectors.
  • Legal directory submissions: assisting with the legal directory submissions process, including amending an updating submissions and liaising with the directory researchers.
  • Budgets and admin: provide administrative support for the Head of Client Services, including budget management, venue bookings and in-house training events
  • Marketing materials: putting together tailored reports, brochure material etc. to promote Chambers co-ordinating preparation of marketing materials with external designers (and designing simple invitations in-house), ensuring our key brand messages are clearly communicated.
  • PR: sending out press releases; monitoring press mentions.

 

The Candidate:

 

  • Have at least a years’ experience in a marketing or business development role
  • Be resilient and able to work independently as well as with different people in Chambers
  • Have a great standard of written English and be a great communicator
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint (knowledge of Mailchimp is a bonus)
