A national professional services consultancy based in Manchester is looking to hire a Head of Marketing & Business Development to join their team. This consultancy are a leader in their field and have a well-structured and busy environment. The head of will be responsible for leading the business development and marketing activity, have line management responsibility and will report to a Director.

 The Responsibilities:

  •  Successfully implement the company’s Business Development strategy liaising with Senior Directors, Business Unit Heads and BD coordinators across the company
  • Support the Senior Director lead to develop a culture of commerciality, business awareness and whole-selling, encouraging BD as a core activity of all fee earners
  • Proactively manage and develop the BD&M team
  • Oversee a focused calendar of  external BDM events ensuring follow up and ROI
  • Oversee PR communications through an external agency, making best use of technology including the company website and social media feeds, liaising with the Head of Digital Communications
  • Manage and prioritise the production of pitches and tenders in line with criteria
  • Develop the client/contact database into an effective CRM system
  • Manage graphic design inputs to BD and marketing materials
  • Contribute to business unit budgeting for BD and marketing activities
  • Take regular structured feedback from existing clients to inform client care and the continuous improvement of service delivery


The Candidate:

  •  Experience within a professional services environment
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing & business development with the ability to build relationships to engage the overall business in the strategy.
  • The ability to manage own workload and others with minimal supervision and uses good judgement to involve and share progress with key stakeholders.
  • A high and growing level of professional competence and an ability to manage projects through to completion
