This leading global law firm is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their Manchester team.

This role encompasses a mix of both business development and marketing activities and will have responsibility for 3 junior members of the team while reporting into the Senior Business Development Manager.


The Responsibilities:


  • Development and agreement of business objectives and strategies for appropriate sectors and practice areas in consultation with key partners
  • Development and implementation of UK / international business development and marketing campaigns, in line with sector business objectives and in consultation with sector and sub-sector groups
  • Creation of effective cross-practice area and international groups and the management of their communication, marketing and client development programs
  • Management, and where necessary creation, of all marketing materials and activities in support of the business development agendas – whether brochures, directory submissions, web pages, newsletters, reports, web-pages, seminars, conferences etc.
  • Creation of differentiating proposal materials and the management of pitch efforts
  • Contribution to the firm’s Key Account Program through identification of the sector’s/practice area’s key accounts, the establishment of client teams and the development and implementation of their plans
  • Management of junior members of the team, ensuring each member of the group works to the highest standards and develops in their roles
  • Together with the Senior Communications Manager and PSLs and other specialist resources, developing and implementing an appropriate media communications program and developing relationships with key journalists
  • The formulation of relevant business development budgets and management of the budget to ensure appropriate expenditure and that the firm receives suitable return on that investment


The Candidate:

  • Degree educated
  • Experience working within either a legal or professional services firm
  • Previous experience gained in a similar role at manager level
