An international law firm is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to work within their large established marketing team. This role will work specifically with their London Corporate Team and work within their Competition practice area. The successful candidate will have experience of working within a large professional services firm in a broad BD and marketing capacity at senior executive or manager level.


The Responsibilities:


  • Take a lead role in preparing proposals, pitch presentations and credentials statements for London based Competition partners.
  • Work with colleagues to capture client feedback, capture proposal outcomes and prompt fee earners to act upon feedback.
  • BD programmes and initiatives – play a lead role working with partners in the Competition practice on business development issues and projects and take a lead role in executing BD initiatives and projects.
  • Cross-sell and facilitate client introductions for the Competition partners across practice groups, as well as across the Corporate practice.
  • Assist partners, associates and BD colleagues in the development of strategic client relationships.
  • Develop a programme of events, dinners etc. to build relationships with clients, regulators/competition authorities and other key influencers; work with the PR team to achieve press commentary in leading business publications, international media and specialist antitrust publications; invest time in legal directory submissions and relevant high-profile awards.
  • Support client listening programmes as appropriate; participate in client listening sessions with key clients. Assimilate the feedback into reports for the relevant partners.


The Candidate:


  • Degree educated
  • 5 years + experience of working within a marketing/BD related role within a professional services or law firm.
  • Ideally have experience in working in Competition
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Senior-stakeholder management/influencing experience is essential.
