This international law firm is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to join their London team.  The purpose of the role is to develop and drive forward sector growth and the holder will be heavily involved in new business proposals and managing existing client accounts.


The Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sector strategy, associated service line and clients plans to meet sector revenue targets and report on their evolution
  • Work with individual Client Relationship partners to forecast, monitor and achieve individual account revenue targets
  • Manage new business proposals and credentials material, with the support  of the Bid team
  • Work with the Marketing team to support campaigns around specific service lines and media
  • Proactively measure and analyse overall financial performance at both sector and service line and client level and feed in data to key stakeholders to inform decision making
  • Coach partners and fee earners to support client meetings (prospects and existing clients)
  • Work with the Marcoms teams in support of specific campaigns and media opportunities
  • Generate client and sector content to inform internal and external communications
  • Drive client feedback through the sector and ensure feedback is monitored
  • Identify new sector opportunities
  • Interpret market and competitor research to inform activity


The Candidate:

  • Degree educated
  • Minimum of one year’s experience working at manager level in legal or professional services
  • Proven BD experience developing successful sector and client growth plans
  • Track record of understanding market trends and applying them to specific sector opportunities
  • Excellent communicator at all levels and be able to influence, challenge and coach senior stakeholders
